Let's get spotty!

Newest challenge theme at Creative Craft Cottage is: Let's Get Spotty! There are 2 sponsors this week:  The East Wind and My Stitch Back in Twine. Sorry this post is a little late, but have been busy planning a possible move! (Will keep you up to date when I know more.)

I chose to use this digital stamp from The East Wind called Aurora Reindeer.  Fell in love with this darling image and it just screamed shaker card to me!

This image is colored using Prismacolor Pencils and a Prismacolor Colorless Blender Marker. The quote on the front says: "You don't need to promise me the moon and the stars..."

Inside the card: "Just promise me you will stand under them with me forever."

I created the shaker element using 2 pieces of clear acetate and Scotch foam tape. I added some adorable white stars and gold sequins I found at a local craft store. The image is adhered to the inside of the card and can be viewed through the shaker window.

Here is a view of the entire inside of the card. I used acetate circles larger than the window to create this shaker element and covered both sides with the polka dot paper to hide any glue spots. :)

I hope you enjoyed my first Christmas card of the 2015 season! (Don't worry, no more Christmas cards until after Halloween is over. I have to enjoy my favorite season of the year now... Fall!!)

New Challenge at Creative Craft Cottage!

My first card for the challenge at Creative Craft Cottage uses an adorable digital stamp created by our first sponsor: Lacy Sunshine!

 

This stamp is titled "Darla Dogwood" (link below) and she was colored using Prismacolor Pencils. The background uses an A2 size piece of brown card stock embossed with one of my favorite embossing folders. I used pink patterned paper from the Sweet Soiree paper pad to mat each piece.

 

Here is the 2nd card using a digital image from our 2nd sponsor: The East Wind!

I just adore this cute fairy image from The East Wind! The colors purple and green popped into my head while coloring her. This also gave me the chance to use some candy stripe embellishments and twine I received from another wonderful papercrafer, Deb!  Thank you sweetie! :)

Some flowers in the embossed background were dusted with Perfect Pearls. I mixed Perfect Pearls powder with a tiny bit of matte Mod Podge to give her purple eyeliner.  Glossy Accents were added to her wings to finish this card.

New favorite die!

This project was inspired by this gorgeous Image by The East Wind. Today is the start of a new challenge at Creative Craft Cottage with the theme being "3 of a kind." Feel free to visit and share your projects!

 

I fell in love with this new die from Spellbinders.  It's called spiral blossom one. I have had it in my stash but just pulled it out to play with it today. After rolling and hot gluing my first paper rose, I was hooked!  I'm new to paper flower creation, but with the help of this die, it was really easy.  Planning on adding these to a lot of my projects!
