My First Christmas Card of the Season!

Today marks the start of Challenge #51 at Creative Craft Cottage! The theme = Anything Goes! With Halloween over, I'm now in full on Christmas mode!

I'm using a darling image by our sponsor: All Dressed Up

I colored this digital image using Prismacolor Pencils and a colorless blender marker. She was carefully fussy cut leaving a small white border.

I used a flower petal punch by Fiskars to create the poinsettia.  The petals were punched from glitter card stock found at Tuesday Morning and adhered with glue dots. The three leaves were punched from vellum, adhered with a single glue dot and then outlined using Stickles. The edges started to curl while drying and I just adore this unintended effect! (Love happy accidents!)

Gold Stickles make up the poinsettia center with small half pearls found in a nail art kit. This beautiful sentiment is stamped in StazOn Opaque White on vellum and the stamp is by Unity Stamps.

Link up your creation by November 20th for a chance to win digital images of your choice!

Let's get spotty!

Newest challenge theme at Creative Craft Cottage is: Let's Get Spotty! There are 2 sponsors this week:  The East Wind and My Stitch Back in Twine. Sorry this post is a little late, but have been busy planning a possible move! (Will keep you up to date when I know more.)

I chose to use this digital stamp from The East Wind called Aurora Reindeer.  Fell in love with this darling image and it just screamed shaker card to me!

This image is colored using Prismacolor Pencils and a Prismacolor Colorless Blender Marker. The quote on the front says: "You don't need to promise me the moon and the stars..."

Inside the card: "Just promise me you will stand under them with me forever."

I created the shaker element using 2 pieces of clear acetate and Scotch foam tape. I added some adorable white stars and gold sequins I found at a local craft store. The image is adhered to the inside of the card and can be viewed through the shaker window.

Here is a view of the entire inside of the card. I used acetate circles larger than the window to create this shaker element and covered both sides with the polka dot paper to hide any glue spots. :)

I hope you enjoyed my first Christmas card of the 2015 season! (Don't worry, no more Christmas cards until after Halloween is over. I have to enjoy my favorite season of the year now... Fall!!)
